Tell Us About Your Business
My business started out when I taught myself to knit after my Dad passed away three years ago. I began creating Knit and felted purses. Now it has evolved into a completely differnt business! I create children’s dress up clothes such as tutus, super hero capes, fairy accessories, baby cocoons and more! I am now branching in to creating a few adult/wedding tutus also!
What’s Your Favorite Thing About Working from Home?
Right now my husband has been out of work due to an injury for 5 months. Because it is in litigation we are receiving no workers comp so my business has become essential to help pay what bills we can. Plus being at home frees me up to get him to Drs appointments and my two teenage children keep me busy too. I love to create, and I owned a dance studio for years, so making tutus seemed to be the natural thing!
What One Piece of Advice Would You Give to Women Getting Started Working from Home?
Be ORGANIZED. I am not by nature an organized person and I really have to work at it. I basically try to keep my mess an “organized mess”.
Anything Else You’d Like to Share?
Small businesses are the heart of our country. I am trying to build mine and support others every chance I get. My customers are the most important part of my business. Oh yeah…I LOVE pink and Purple, but NOT together:)
Thank you, Denise, for sharing your wisdom and your business!

Hi Denise — nice to meet ya.
I love your baby cocoons and hats! They look so soft and inviting, I wish I could slip into a set myself.
I’m expecting my first grandchild this summer so I’m going to bookmark your site.
Hope your tutus, capes, hats, and cocoon sales soar this year!

Good for you!!!! I especially liked the part about how you came to start your work. I love the fact that your joy came from your sorrow. That takes, guts, gf.
