I was made redundant in my 50′s and still had a mortgage to pay. I turned a hobby into a business. I have always read tarot cards (learned from an aunt who learned from my gran) More recently healing, so I thought Why not? I needed a twist as there are millions of readers, so I used my drama/teaching skills to offer readings at events/hen nights/parties/weddings etc. I’ve been on local radio on a phone in (which was a big boost) The whole party thing is big in America with celebs, and is just beginning where I live. Found this idea when researching!
What’s Your Favorite Thing About Working from Home?
Doing what I want, when I want, stopping if i have visitors etc. Because I love doing this though I spend long hours on it, but it doesn’t seem like work.
What One Piece of Advice Would You Give to Women Getting Started Working from Home?
It’s still a business do all of your research etc, just the same. Join a network (I belong to 2) or you’ll become isolated.
Anything Else You’d Like to Share?
No matter how flexible it is there are still times when you have to put the business first, no matter how inconvenient, its how you earn your living.
